The Gambian N’Dama is a larger, less compact and slightly taller variety of the N’Dama. The females have long, fine horns similar to the Guinean N’Dama.
The Gambian N’Dama is herded by the Fulani and exhibits influence of the Fulani Zebu. Although primarily used for milk, during three months of the wet season bullocks are worked extensively in agriculture.
