The Swedish Red Polled is part of an amalgamated grouping called ‘Swedish Polled’.
• 1913 - Swedish Red Polled herdbook established
• 1913–1938 - initial Swedish Red Polled breed society
The Swedish Red Polled has had admixture (less than 5%) from imported polled West Finncattle and Red Polled Eastland since 1950.
The current Swedish Red Poll Association (Sveriges Rödkulleförening) was founded in the 1960s with the objective of maintaining the original breed identity.
