VIDEO: The Literal School
It's crazy as all get out.
It's crazy as all get out.
If you took everything you heard literally, what would be left and where would you take it?
Think about it. Language is a form of description for what we perceive around us and the feelings we're having. We say some pretty funny things when you consider what would happen if our actions matched our words.
The students in this film had a lot of fun drawing storyboards for common phrases. They also happily created many of the sound effects and visuals and they coudn't stop talking about how most everything is – if it's taken literally – essentially, silly. (I mean, they were driving me up a wall with all their questions.)
NOTE: What started the idea of filming was when the students heard The Literal Family – part of our Radio Afters series – during some live shows for WUNH in New Hampshire.
