Red Brahman
(most common name)
(local/other name):
• Brahman Rojo (Colombia/Paraguay)
The Red Brahman began with an importation of a red Gir bull into Texas during the development of the Brahman.
At one point, after the Brahman herdbook was established and then closed, registry was reopened for a 1946 importation of 18 Brazilian bulls via Mexico. These were mostly Gir and Indo-Brazilian and they were very influential on the Red Brahman (which has a separate registry).
