‘Pyaung’ is the Vietnamese breed local name used for the Burmese Gaur.
The Pyaung is known for having tufts of hair that grow on the dewlap.
The Pyaung is housed at night and then grazes during the day. They cause very little damage to agriculture and forests because they move in small groups over a large area.
The Pyaung belongs to the Bibovine cattle group. Bibovine refers to several species of large Southeast Asian wild cattle that are closely related to common cattle.
