The Kumamoto is a strain of the Japanese Brown that has more Simmental blood.
The Kumamoto is larger than the Kochi and is a unicolor of light brown with a fawn to reddish tinge.
The Kumamoto matures earlier than the Kochi, but their beef is less marbled.
