The Jaspeado Manabita, considered to be a biotype of Ecuador Criollo, can be found in the provinces of Los Rios and Manabí in western Ecuador.
The Jaspeado Manabita is characterized morphometrically (by measurements).
The Jaspeado Manabita coat colors include:
• colorado (red, most common, various shades)
• hosco (dark brown or liver colored)
• chestnut
• black-and-white
• azotado or chorreado (‘tiger striped’, i.e. vertical black stripes on a chestnut background)
• white
• bay (brown with black points)
• porotillo (red pied in spots)
• overo (red pied in patches)
