The Fronterizo (Tipo elipométrico) is the smallest variety of the Argentine Criollo and can be found in the foothills of the Andean mountains in the following provinces:
• southeastern Salta and Tucumán
• the lowlands of Santiago Del Estero
• part of Formosa
