The Criollo de Chihuahua is a subtype of Mexican Criollo.
The Chihuahua desert covers parts of northern Mexico and southwestern United States. During the 19th century, Hereford, Aberdeen-Angus and Shorthorn cattle were introduced into this region and Criollo de Chihuahua were, in turn, exported to the USA for beef.
