Soundtrack Pro 2 to GarageBand to Keynote: Adding Sound Effects

Cheat Sheet 20081101

Go to Menu

Open Soundtrack Pro and search through the loops for the sounds you want (see below):

Soundtrack Pro - search loops

Drag your loops to individual tracks and play with them as you would in GarageBand to get the mix you want (see below):

Soundtrack Pro - drag loops to different tracks

Go to File and Export your mix to the desktop as an MP3 file with whatever name you want (see below):

Sountrack Pro - export as MP3

Open GarageBand, make a new song, and then drag and drop your Soundtrack Pro MP3 file into it (the track color should be yellow) and make certain you drag the top purple marker to the end of your new track length otherwise you'll have a lot of dead air playing when you export your mix from here (see below):

GarageBand - dropping in an MP3

Adjust the volume for fades, etc, by opening the volume/panning track underneath (see below):

GarageBand - volume adjustments

Go to Share and Export Song to Disk (see below):

GarageBand - export song to disk

Name and compress it to an MP3 because Keynote doesn't care if it's that quality (if you're returning to Final Cut Pro/Express you need it to be an AIFF):

GarageBand - compress to MP3

Finally, drag and drop your results into the slide in Keynote where you want your new MP3 to play.
