When you create a new shape by layering images from the Shapes menu, you need to group them if you want to copy and paste them as one final shape.

Choose a shape from your Shapes menu (see below):

Add more shapes from the Shapes menu on top (see below):

Shift-Select all your shapes (see below):

Go to Arrange - Group (see below):

Now all your shapes are combined. You can then select and copy – (see below):

– and move it as one shape. (see below):
