Salorn
(historical breed name)
In 1983, a crossbreeding program between the Salers and the Texas Longhorn resulted in a composite named the Salorn:
Salers × (Salers × Texas Longhorn) bred to (Salers × Texas Longhorn)
The Salers continues to be bred in Texas. However, the Salorn, which was (5/8) Salers and (3/8) Texas Longhorn, failed to catch on in any way and has since faded.
The International Salorn Association was established in 1988 and voluntarilly dissolved in 2010.
