The Randall Lineback is an authentic breed that started in the early 20th century with a unique closed herd of linebacked cattle kept by Clayton Randall in Vermont.

The Randall Lineback, now considered a rare heritage breed, was rescued from extinction in 1985 by Cynthia Creech of Tennessee.
