The Menufi is a variety of Baladi found in the Menufia and Qalyoubia Governorates which are both in the southeastern part of the Nile Delta region, north of Cairo, in Lower Egypt.

The Menufi is used primarily for work. The most recent population count (done in 1993) reported 150,000 with a decreasing trend.
