The Dorna is a local color variety of the Transylvanian Pinzgau (also named Romanian Pinzgau; Pinzgau de Transilvania in Romanian).

The Dorna can be found mainly in northeastern Romania in Suceava County (especially around the city of Vatra Dornei).

Besides having Illyrian Shorthorn and Pinzgauer blood, the Dorna has also been influenced by the Swiss Brown.
