The Criollo de la Costa is listed in the DAD-IS database under the country of Ecuador with a population maximum of 11,260 as of 2018.

Felius (1995) mentions the Costa Criollo from the lowlands of Ecuador and says that it has disappeared since the late 1970s. Mason (Dictionary 2020) lists the Costa of Ecuador as a larger variety of the Ecuador Criollo and says that it is now extinct.

This is confusing and further information or images have not yet been found.
