The Cachena is found in both Spain and Portugal. The Cachena of Spain is larger than the Cachena of Portugal and is used for meat.
Cachena are reddish-brown (some with darker markings, especially the males); all have a white muzzleband around their black noses. They also have black hooves and black tips on their very long, high-set lyre horns.
The Cachena of Spain are found in the mountains of the Baixa Limia-Serra do Xurés natural park in Ourense, Galicia.
