Blue Grey
(most common name)
The Blue Grey is a polled F₁ crossbreed using Whitebred Shorthorn bulls and Galloway cows. They are used as specialist suckler cows in parts of southwestern Scotland and northwestern England.
The Blue Grey, during all levels of condition, has a higher fat content than other crossbred cows. Because of this, it produces milk more effectively when grazing is limited in these upland areas.
