The East Finncattle maintain their colorsided coat through selective breeding.

The three Finncattle breeds are:
• West Finncattle

• Icelandic

Because Finncattle all have remarkably high frequencies of the B allele for kappa casein, their milk is known for its superior cheese- and butter-making properties.
