RULES:
Pick a Lendler poem from the list below.
You must animate and/or illustrate the poem.
You may choose as many poems as you like.
You may enter as many animations and illustrations as you want.
You may both animate and illustrate the same poem - each will be an individual entry.
FORMATS YOU CAN USE FOR ANIMATION (maximum length of 2 minutes):
- Flip Boom = silent animation
- Flip Boom + GarageBand + iMovie = animation with sound
- Stop-Action Video Footage + Music/Voice + iMovie = animation with sound
- Stop-Action Video Footage + iMovie + GarageBand = animation with sound
These software programs are what Santa Rita Elementary has available in the computer room. If you have some other animation software - go ahead and use it (as long as it will give us a QuickTime or Flash file - i.e. mov, m4v, flv, swf).

FORMATS YOU CAN USE FOR ILLUSTRATION:
- AppleWorks
- Photoshop
- Any software program that can make single JPEG images
- Go analog (i.e. real paint, pen, pencil, collage on paper, cardboard, masonite,origami, etc) and take a picture of it and that will make it a JPEG.
PRIZES:
There will be a 1st place winner for each poem in animation.
There will be a 1st place winner for each poem in illustration.
All 1st place winning entries in illustration and animation will be placed on the Kranky Kids® website - www.krankykids.com - which entitles you to bragging rights to your friends and family. (There will also be some other small silly prizes, but we don’t know what those will be as of yet. It’s a mystery and depends on how many students enter the contest because no one is making any money doing this - trust me.)
All contestants will receive (either in-person or by email as a PDF) a Kranky Kids® - The Ian Lendler Illustration and Animation Poetry Contest 2010 Certificate declaring their participation and autographed by Mr. Lendler.
