An Undone Fairy Tale

We asked the school librarian to choose for us a favorite school library book to act out. This children's book is loved and adored by many students. They can read it for themselves, but they really enjoy having it read to them.
What makes it so fun is that the narrator in the book keeps telling you NOT to turn the page. So, of course, if you're reading aloud the narrator part you can threaten to stop reading and this makes the children ask and beg and plead for the story to go on because it's fun (meaning the story and also the collective begging and pleading).
We used a Flip Ultra camera for filming and Final Cut Pro for editing. Everything was done on the spot with what and who was available during a regular Kranky Kids After School Program. Nothing was rehearsed and a bit of the story was changed because, well, we only had what we had to do the telling.
We also interviewed the knights who failed to rescue the princess, AKA The Bad Knights. |
