The Länsi-Suomalainen Karja (LSK) (aka West Finncattle and Brown Finnish and Red Finnish in English; Västfinsk in Swedish) is believed to have ancestors that may have arrived in West Finland via Vikings or Finns from the south.

Karelia (Karjala in Finnish) is an area currently divided between Russia and Finland.
