Create a Table Template
- Create your table and fill in all your repetitive headers and formulas. (Note: You can copy cell formulas that have little warning triangles to other cells. The warnings go away when the formula data is filled in later.)
- Select your table -
- Go to Format - Advanced - Capture Table...
- A window opens that lets you name your new table and also decide if you want to make its style fixed or use a default style with it when used in the future.
- Your new table is now added to your choices that appear when you click the Tables button in the Toolbar.
Create a Style Template
- Create your table.
- Then select your table -
- Go to Format - Create New Table Style
- Your new style is now added to your choices in the Styles Pane. (You can also use its pop-up menu to make it your default style when adding a new table.)
You can update/change the style of all tables on a sheet:
- Select a table.
- Make your changes (text font, fill color, whatever you want).
- In the Styles Pane - click the pop-up menu of the existing style you first used when creating that table and choose Redefine Style from Table.
- All other tables on the sheet using this style will now update to your changes.
